Coach of the Year is a prestigious honor given to a coach each cheerleading year, and is awarded at the NLCA Provincial Cheerleading Championships.  The Coach of the Year is one who dedicates a considerable amount of time over and about the allotted practice time, and shows a great deal of enthusiasm towards the team and the sport as a whole.  A coach of the year is more than just a coach - they are a role model for all athletes that they come in contact with.

The Teacher Sponsor of the Year is another prestigious honor given to a school teacher sponsor, and is awarded annually at the NLCA Provincial Cheerleading Championships. The Teacher Sponsor of the Year is one whose dedication to the team us unquestionable as he/she/they dedicates time over and above what is necessary and expected, as well as shows a great deal of enthusiasm and support whenever possible to both the team and the sport as a whole. Teacher Sponsor of the Year is more than just a teacher who is required to be present at practice, but is instead an involved, vital member of the team.

This year, Newfoundland and Labrador Cheerleading Athletics will be offering multiple scholarships valued at up to $1000.00 to any cheerleader grade 12 or above who is planning on continuing their education at a recognized post-secondary institution*.

*Proof of acceptance to post-secondary institution is required to receive award money, but is not required to apply.

At the Provincial Championships, the judges offer a monetary bid to the team selected for their exceptional performance and skill. This bid serves as a recognition of their outstanding talent and performance displayed on the mat.

The Sullivan Award, a monetary award named in honor of Marina Sullivan, a trailblazer in cheerleading in Newfoundland and Labrador, is bestowed upon individuals who exemplify unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership within the cheerleading community of the province.

This prestigious award celebrates Marina Sullivan's legacy by recognizing individuals who, like her, have dedicated themselves to advancing the sport and inspiring others through their passion and dedication. It serves as a testament to Marina Sullivan's enduring impact on cheerleading in the region and honors those who continue to uphold her values of leadership, dedication, and excellence.
