COACH OF THE YEAR
Coach of the Year is a prestigious honour presented annually at the cheerNL Provincial Cheerleading Championships, recognizing a coach who exemplifies excellence both on and off the mat. This award celebrates an individual who goes above and beyond—dedicating countless hours beyond scheduled practices, investing deeply in the growth and success of their athletes, and demonstrating unwavering passion for their team and the sport as a whole.
More than a coach, the recipient is a true leader and mentor—someone who inspires, motivates, and sets the standard for integrity, respect, and sportsmanship. They leave a lasting impact on every athlete they encounter, shaping not only stronger competitors, but stronger individuals.

TEACHER SPONSOR/Administrator OF THE YEAR
The Teacher Sponsor/Administrator of the Year is another prestigious honor given to a school teacher sponsor or all-star gym administrator, and is awarded annually at the cheerNL Provincial Cheerleading Championships.
The Teacher Sponsor/Administrator of the Year is one whose dedication to the team is unquestionable as he/she/they dedicates time over and above what is necessary and expected, as well as shows a great deal of enthusiasm and support whenever possible to both the team and the sport as a whole. Teacher Sponsor/Administrator of the Year is more than just a teacher or admin who is required to be present, but is instead an involved, vital member of the team.

Best Kind Award *NEW*
The "Best Kind" Award is presented to a team who exemplifies the heart and soul of cheerleading. This award recognizes outstanding passion for the sport, unwavering kindness, and exceptional sportsmanship. Recipients embody the spirit of cheerleading, inspiring others with their dedication, positivity, and generosity. They demonstrate a commitment to uplifting teammates, opponents, and the community, showcasing the best of what it means to be a cheerleader.
Nominations for this award will take place during the Provincial Cheerleading Championships, with the recipient announced at the event. This award is designed to encourage and celebrate positive sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Hit Zero Award
The Hit Zero Award recognizes the teams that deliver the most technically clean routine of the event. This award celebrates athletes who execute their routine with precision, confidence, and exceptional teamwork—performing every skill safely and successfully with zero deductions. It highlights outstanding preparation, focus, and commitment to excellence on the competition floor.
This award is presented at the Provincial Cheerleading Championships.

cheerNL SCHOLARSHIP
Are you a third year high school or post-secondary student-athlete looking to attend a post-secondary institution? Apply for our cheerNL Scholarship Award!
This year, cheerNL will be offering multiple scholarships valued at up to $1000.00 to any cheerleader grade 12 or above who is planning on continuing their education at a recognized post-secondary institution*.
This award is presented at the Provincial Cheerleading Championships.
*Proof of acceptance to post-secondary institution is required to receive award money, but is not required to apply.

The Sullivan Award
The Sullivan Award, a monetary award named in honor of Marina Sullivan, a trailblazer in cheerleading in Newfoundland and Labrador, is bestowed upon individuals who exemplify unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership within the cheerleading community of the province.
This prestigious award celebrates Marina Sullivan's legacy by recognizing individuals who, like her, have dedicated themselves to advancing the sport and inspiring others through their passion and dedication. It serves as a testament to Marina Sullivan's enduring impact on cheerleading in the region and honors those who continue to uphold her values of leadership, dedication, and excellence.

EVENT BIDS
At the cheerNL Provincial Cheerleading Championships, prestigious monetary bids are awarded to a scholastic team and an all-star, selected by an experienced, out-of-province judging panel, in recognition of truly exceptional performance and skill. Chosen from across all divisions, these teams demonstrate excellence in execution, innovation, synchronization, and overall performance quality.
These bids stand as a significant honour—celebrating not only what is achieved on the mat, but the dedication, preparation, and passion that brought it to life. It represents the highest standard of performance at Provincials, where excellence is earned, not given.
