cheerNL SCHOLARSHIP

Multiple scholarships are available annually to any grade 12 cheerleader who is an cheerNL member and planning on continuing their education at a recognized post-secondary institution. Scholarships will be awarded at the cheerNL Provincial Cheerleading Championships.

Proof of acceptance to post-secondary institution is required to receive award money, but is not required to apply.

To apply for this scholarship, please submit:

  1. The application form

  2. Two (2) references—one (1) MUST be from a cheerleading coach or teacher advisor

  3. A current official transcript of high school marks (email awards@cheernl.ca)

  4. A personal statement of 250-500 words answering the following question: “How has cheerleading had a positive impact on your life?”

  5. Proof of attendance/acceptance into a post-secondary institution (once received)*

    * Please note: Once scholarship winner has been announced, recipient(s) must provide proof of class registration at post-secondary institution in order to receive scholarship money.

JUDGING PROCESS

Applications will be graded on a 50-point scale as follows:

  • Application and Personal Statement: 30 points

  • References (2): 10 points each
