The Teacher Sponsor of the Year is another prestigious honor given to a school teacher sponsor, and is awarded annually at the NLCA Provincial Cheerleading Championships. The Teacher Sponsor of the Year is one whose dedication to the team us unquestionable as he/she/they dedicates time over and above what is necessary and expected, as well as shows a great deal of enthusiasm and support whenever possible to both the team and the sport as a whole. Teacher Sponsor of the Year is more than just a teacher who is required to be present at practice, but is instead an involved, vital member of the team.
TEACHER SPONSOR OF THE YEAR
To nominate an individual you must submit:
(1) One (1) letter of nomination (250 to 500 words) from a person on or involved with the team
(2) A statement from a member of the team
(3) A statement from a coach (where possible*)
* Please Note: In the case that the teacher sponsor is also the acting coach, a letter from the principal, another team member, or involved parent will be accepted.

JUDGING PROCESS
Nominees are judged based on the 50-point system below:
(1) Nomination letter – 30 points
(2) Reference letter (2) – 10 points each
Nominations are not limited to the three required letters of reference, as teams are encouraged to send as many letters as they would like. The winner is however chosen based on the quality of the references not the quantity of letters included.
