Friends & Family Viewing Area Guidelines
What you need to know
At the cheerNL Provincial Cheerleading Championships, we are proud to create an exciting, respectful, and safe environment for all athletes, coaches, and spectators.
The Friends & Family Viewing Area is designed to give each team’s supporters a chance to experience their performance up close—while keeping the event organized and fair for everyone.
How the Viewing Area Works 🎟️
The Friends & Family Viewing Area is located at the front of the competition floor, separated by a fence.
Spectators may line up at the designated queue area (far end of the room near the VIP entrance).
You may enter the queue ONLY when your team is announced as “ON DECK.”
“On Deck” will be identified through:
Event announcements
Posted signage
Screens throughout the venue
👉 When your team is called:
Enter the viewing area from the RIGHT side
Watch and enjoy your team’s performance
👉 When the performance ends:
Exit immediately to the LEFT side using the designated exit
This allows the next team’s supporters to enter
🔁 This process repeats throughout the competition.
Viewing Area Rules 🚧
To ensure fairness and safety for everyone:
Designated Area Only: Remain within the viewing area at all times
No Early Entry: Do not enter or hold space before your team is “on deck”
Follow Volunteer Direction: Event staff and marshals are there to help—please respect their guidance
No Barrier Crossing: Jumping fences, bypassing entry points, or sneaking into the area will not be tolerated
Capacity Limits Apply: Access may be limited to ensure a safe and comfortable space
Spectator Conduct 🤝
We expect all spectators to contribute to a positive cheer environment:
Cheer FOR your team, not against others
No negative, disrespectful, or aggressive behavior toward athletes, coaches, officials, or other spectators
Respect all event staff and judges (all decisions are final)
Follow the cheerNL Code of Conduct at all times
🚫 Failure to follow these expectations may result in:
Removal from the viewing area or event
A deduction of up to 5 points may be applied to a team’s score (see Code of Conduct Deduction)
Filming & Photography 📸
No flash photography
Stay within designated areas while filming
Do not bring large equipment that blocks views or creates safety hazards
Always remain behind barriers and safety lines
Important Reminders ⚠️
Do not enter warm-up areas or attempt to access athletes before performances
Be ready to move when your team is called—timing is important
Follow all posted signage and event announcements
LET’S KEEP it Positive!
This system ensures that every team gets the same opportunity to be supported by their friends and family—without crowding or confusion.
Thank you for helping us create a respectful, organized, and high-energy championship experience for everyone
✨ Together, we make cheerleading a sport of excellence—on and off the mat! ✨
